BIO

Nicque Marina is an actor, content creator and recording artist from Houston, TX. She creates comedy content based on anime, Marvel, and other popular fandoms; she has garnered a following of over 1.3M on TikTok, as well as over 54K on Instagram and over 160K on YouTube. Nicque began singing in church at the age of 2, learning piano at the age of 4, and becoming a classically trained clarinetist at the age of 7. She lives in the New York City area where she is signed as a recording artist under the indie label VEMEntertainment with a music project due in 2021.

In high school, Nicque began performing in musical theater, and also became a self-taught hip-hop and Latin dancer. Upon attending the United States Air Force Academy, Nicque became a member of the Latin and swing dance clubs on campus and the Blue Bards Theatre Troupe on campus. While on active duty in the Air Force, she was selected for a special duty as a performer for the Air Force Entertainment group: Tops in Blue. On a 10-month world tour, Nicque served as vocalist, instrumentalist and staging director in charge of the set-up for a $2M set for over 80 shows in 16 countries, including deployed locations in the Middle East. During her last 3 years of active duty, Nicque trained in ballet, modern, contemporary, and jazz as a company member of the North Dakota Ballet Company and also joined the company hip hop crew, ELITE Dance Crew. She was also able to attend a workshop by renowned Broadway veteran Shoshanna Bean. She currently trains in tae kwon do with the International Tae kwon do Academy, about to earn her green belt.

Nicque cites Mariah Carey as a huge influence on her singing style. Due to poverty, her family was not able to afford voice lessons when she was young. So instead, Nicque listened to Mariah Carey records on repeat, emulating her style and diction and learning runs. She has closely studied Beyonce over the years to develop her stage presence. Nicque also writes freestyle poetry every day, inspired by a practice of one of her current favorite artists, Jhene Aiko. Growing up with comedy, she draws inspiration from works like The Chappelle Show and Saturday Night Live when writing her skits.

Nicque’s most notable roles over the years include “Emma” from Jekyll and Hyde, “Natalie” from Next to Normal, “Titania” from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and “Jay,” the lead character in the 2019 off-Broadway run of the production Rebirth of Rabbit’s Foot.
